This is a scan of the George Washington Bridge shot from almost the exact same spot I shot mine at Fort Lee Historic Park which now is part of the Palisades Interstate Park. The reason it is here, since it was taken before I was born is my dad shot this around 1948. Notice all the changes? Amazing isn't it? Among the differences I noticed right away were the sight seeing balconies on each tower. The fact there is only one level, second was always planned but the lower was originally planed to be 4 rapid transit train lines. It ended up in 1962 with 6 lanes of automobile traffic. Notice the lack of buildings on the NY side too. Long time ago isn't it?
